Macy’s is having their semi-annual Friends and Family sale starting Sunday, April 26th, 2015 and ending Monday, May 4th, 2015. Use the code FRIEND online.
The reason this sale is noteworthy (as opposed to all the other sales that Macy’s runs each week of the year) is that this sale has *far* fewer exclusions than what is typically discounted. Most everything in fashion, shoes/accessories and home goods is 25% off. Electrics, electronics and furniture will be 10% off. The main exclusions from this sale are the vendors who operate licensed “stores” within Macy’s, beauty/cosmetics and every day value items.
Typically, many brands are excluded from their coupons (e.g. Levi’s, NYDJ, 7 for all Mankind, Joe’s Jeans, Martha Stewart, etc.). The Friends and Family sale does not have these exclusions so shopping in the Impulse section is so much easier!
Nordstrom is currently taking 10% off nearly 2500 makeup, skincare and perfume items. This is a great opportunity to pick up some beauty items that never/rarely go on sale. No code is required and prices are marked. I’m told that this sale is going on until April 27, 2015.
Hanna Andersson makes the most wonderful, soft, organic cotton children’s clothes. We have a hand-me-down Hanna dress that has been washed a million times and still looks fabulous. Our 2 year old can be pretty hard on clothes so when stuff stays looking new, I’m really impressed! Another thing I love about Hanna is their amazing customer service. They really stand behind their products, just like my favorite store Nordstrom. I wish every retailer was like this!
Hanna is having a 20% off nearly everything sale, both online and in store. Sale prices are marked and so far the only thing I am seeing that isn’t 20% off is their licensed apparel like the Star Wars and Disney Princess printed pajamas. It’s a bummer because those are SO CUTE!
We are in the midst of potty training and a trusted mommy friend recommended Hanna training unders for this process. They have a thick, absorbent middle section to help absorb any accidents that may happen. I’ve ordered 2 sets and I’ll report back on how they work out for us!
Did you miss out on Lilly for Target like I mostly did? I just heard of something that cheered me right up — MILLY has done a line for Kohl’s! I had no idea Kohl’s was also doing designer collaborations as well! It seems like everyone is getting in on this trend–Target, Kohl’s, Gap. Kohl’s designer collaborations are released under the DesigNation label. Previous designer collaborations include collections from Elie Tahari (a few items still online), Derek Lam (a few items still online), Peter Som and Catherine Malandrino. Thakoon was announced today and will be coming this fall.
The MILLY for DesigNation collection is online now and launches in stores Thursday April 23 and looks FABULOUS. Oh my goodness, I’m kind of glad I didn’t spend all my money on Lilly at Target because there are some SERIOUSLY cute dresses in this collection. It looks like the collection goes from sizes 0-16 and XXS-XL.
I love MILLY’s beautiful, vibrant prints and this collection features tons of those.
I love the citrus print! The collection features this scuba dress as well as a t-shirt with the lemons.
This midi dress is so sexy. I love the black straps and waist defining section. Not sure how I feel about midi dresses though… I am ordering this one and I’ll have to try it on to see how it looks on me.
This dress is also in my shopping cart. I love the bright floral print!
There are even 2 matching Mommy and me looks! The girl’s dresses only come in 4-6x so they are quite limited and my little one won’t fit in the size 4 yet. Hopefully they will do an expanded size selection next time!
Saks is holding a Friends and Family sale both online and in stores through April 27. They are offering 30% off, with a long list of designer exclusions. Items that are eligible are marked “Friends & Family eligible”. Use code FRNFAM and FREESHIP at checkout.
If you’re still bummed about missing the Lilly Pulitzer/Target designer collaboration, consider using your 30% off on a full line Lilly dress. Obviously the price point is still vastly different, but the quality is better with the full line dresses. Dresses will be lined, zippers will pull smoother, and the material feels more luxurious.
In girls sizes, the Target dresses were $20. At Saks, after the 30% off, girls dresses start at $33.60 and go up from there. In womens sizes, the difference is a little larger. Target dresses were $30-$44 depending on the style. At Saks, after the 30% off, women’s dresses start at $110.
