By now most of my Anniversary items have all arrived and I have had time to try them on and decide which ones are the keepers and which ones will go back.
I did my Anniversary shopping both in store and online, though mostly online since my daytime hours are rather busy trying to balance work and being a mom!
I wanted to show off a few of my sale highlights.
I loved the Pleione Mixed Media tunic. It is pretty generously sized but I love the relaxed look. It comes in a ton of colors and in both regular and petite sizing. I have it in this purple color as well as the pink and I think the pink is a little too bright. I am going to exchange it for a grey which I think will be more my style.
I love this Ted Baker London coat, but it is rather pricey so I’m debating with myself on whether or not I need another wool coat when I already have 2. Hmmm… This one is dressier than any my other coats. I love that it isn’t too heavy and is super soft. The coat runs a bit small. I typically wear a size 0 but I found the 0 to be quite snug and I had a little bit of trouble doing up the buttons at the waist.
I tried this top in store and it ran super duper small, but once I sized up I thought it was very cute. Be careful not to go too large though, as the lace cutouts on the side might be too revealing!
What did you get at the sale? Did you find a ton of great stuff like me, or was it a bust?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale started this morning. It’s like Christmas in July for me. This is my favorite sale every year because a) I love Fall fashion and b) My size is available in everything! Woohoo! 🙂
Because I’m a Nordstrom card holder I already shopped on the first day of Early Access but I couldn’t resist picking up a few cute items for my daughter this morning.
I thought this color blocked dress was super cute with its peter pan collar and gold buttons. I try to get my little one 1-2 “nicer” occasion dresses per size and we don’t have anything in 24 months yet, so this is perfect. It is at a great price point too!
Any other Early Access shoppers shop again? Find anything else cute for toddler girls that I should be looking at? 🙂
Nordstrom card holders have already been able to shop the sale for over a week, but everyone else has had to wait. If you missed out on snagging that Chloe Marcie Hobo, 3.1 Philip Lim Pashli or anything else you were coveting, you will be able to try again tonight as Nordstrom typically reserves some stock for the first day of the public sale. Card holders also get double points on all purchases.
Here are the items that I have heard rave reviews about. Even though I already shopped the sale for myself, I’m kind of debating whether or not I want to get anything else!
The Zella Live In Leggings and Capris are some of the highest rated items on the Nordstrom website. The Leggings have over 1000+ reviews with 95% of people recommending them and the Capris have over 500+ reviews with 93% of people recommending them — including me! The leggings are also available in Plus sizes–something that some competitors (cough cough Lululemon) don’t offer.
I own several pairs of the capris and I *love* them. As their name implies, you can literally live in them all day long, anywhere and everywhere.
The Natori Feathers bra has gotten rave reviews from over 200+ people on the Nordstrom site and tons more from other Specialty Bra Fitting Websites. One of the reasons is because it comes in a wider range of sizes than normal (though admittedly, the extra range comes on the smaller band scale). This is one of the few bras that comes in a band size 30. I tried this on at the store and it was a great bra (though I ended up taking home a Chantelle instead). I am thinking I might order one of these since it did fit me well.
I own a few of these in the skinny strap camisole style. I wear them under all of my semi-sheer work blouses. I have basic black and nude and that seems to work great for me. These also have great reviews on the Nordstrom site, with around 90% of people recommending the tanks. A racer back style is also available, and all the styles are available in Plus sizes.
Another item that gets a ton of great reviews is this North Face jacket. 95% of the 62 people who have reviewed the jacket on Nordstrom.com say they would recommend it. It looks super warm and super light. As I’m getting older, I’m finding that both warmth and the weight of the jacket are super important. I don’t reach for my heavier jackets as often because they are a pain to carry!
This is one of the items that I’ve read about from fellow bloggers that is a MUST BUY! It is supposedly super comfortable and a snuggie that you can actually wear in public (even though the model is pictured in her underwear). Haha! It is currently sold out (one of those items that went SUPER FAST!) in my size.
This is another super popular and well reviewed item on the Nordstrom site. For Anniversary, Nordstrom is offering the expandable version. Looks like it is very versatile and from what I’ve heard, this one is made in France.
Will you be shopping tonight at midnight? I might take a quick peek and see if I can pickup that Barefoot dreams cardigan since it is currently sold out 🙂
Here’s something interesting that I just discovered. Target.com now carries some nicer skincare lines through its Subscribe & Save program!
Clarins, Laneige, Vichy and La Roche Posay are now available. Even better, these are all 20% off this week. You don’t typically find Clarins on sale anywhere besides special events at Sephora, but at 20% off that is a great deal!
I’ve noticed that Laneige, Vichy and La Roche Posay aren’t readily available in my part of the country, though I have seen that Duane Reade carries it in NYC. I’ve seen these brands in Canada at Shopper’s Drug Mart.
This week Target is taking 20% off your S&S order (along with an additional 5% off if you’re a RED card holder).
I’ve compared prices on a few items to give you an idea of whether or not you would save money. Keep in mind that prices change all the time so this may not be the case in a few months or even weeks or days.
Amazon S&S Price (5% off retail)
Target S&S Price (no RED card) — this week 20% off
Method All Purpose Cleaning Spray – French Lavender (28 oz)
For this week, with Target offering 20% off their Subscribe & Save price, Target is saving you a ton of money over Amazon. After the 20% off promo ends, it still looks like Target generally saves you more than Amazon. If you are in a state where Amazon doesn’t collect sales tax, that may make a difference as well. Target’s selection is also quite limited compared to Amazon’s huge selection.
As for me, I’m off to load up my Target S&S cart with a ton of things we’ll need around the house! Will you be switching over to Target S&S?
