Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Catalog 2019 Is Here!

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Catalog for 2019 has arrived!

If you are anything like me, you have been eagerly awaiting the catalog drop every day since the beginning of June. Well, your wait is over and it is here!

There’s also a LOT of information that is new for 2019. I’ve shopped the Anniversary Sale for 10 years and some of this is very different from years past!

Catalog Launch

The catalog has launched and I have linked it here. In years past, I have received a paper catalog long before the online version gets posted. They have started launching the online one earlier and earlier now.

Early Access Time Change

Early Access Begins at 12:30 PM Eastern Time (9:30 AM Pacific Time) on Friday, July 12th! In past years, Early Access would begin at midnight Pacific time on the Friday that Early Access opened, so I would stay up late on Friday night and do my shopping before going to bed. Shoppers on the East Coast would set their alarms for 3 AM and wake up early to shop before going to work.

Nordstrom’s website has always had issues handling the traffic volume in the middle of the night. I’m not sure how they plan to accommodate shoppers who are all going to be awake!

Nordy Club Icon and Ambassadors Get to Preshop before Early Access

This year Nordy Club Icon and Ambassador levels will be able to preshop even BEFORE Early Access begins on Friday, July 12th.

  • U.S. Icon cardmembers: Pre-shop July 9-11 in store
  • U.S. Ambassador cardmembers: Pre-shop July 10 & 11 in-store

In addition, Nordstrom is testing additional benefits for New York City and Los Angeles Icon and Ambassador Nordy Club cardmembers. For New York City and Los Angeles customers only:

  • Icon cardmembers can pre-order online June 27-30 and pick up their items in-store beginning July 9
  • Ambassador cardmembers get the same perks a day later – pre-order online June 28-30 and pick up in-store beginning July 10

Happy Shopping! What are you most looking forward to this year?

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Public Sale Has Started!

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has officially started! I have noticed that Nordstrom has been trying different things each year to change up the way the sale works. A few years ago they had a bunch of super limited quantity items, this year I didn’t see them label anything as limited quantity, although it seemed like a few things flew off the shelves within the first hours of the sale!

This year it seems like there is less of a focus on luxury items and more of a focus on the midrange price point. I noticed that some of my favorite basic items from years past are either discontinued or not part of the sale, which is a bit disappointing!

In any case, I did get a chance to shop the sale and I have a few favorites to recommend:

Clothing

barefoot dreams circle cardigan nsale haul

I bought the Barefoot Dreams Circle Cardigan cocoa/pearl heather which is a great neutral color. I love how cozy it is. I wish they would size these a little smaller though, because the XS/S is still a little long on my shorter frame.

zella high waisted live in leggings nsale haul

I am fairly certain that the Zella High Waist Live In Leggings are the same as in years past. I was really worried that they had changed up my perfect leggings.

caslon knit assymetric jacket nsale haul

I love clothing that has an assymetrical twist. I don’t know why but I do. This Caslon assymetric drape jacket is super cute. Apparently it did come in Petite sizing but I must have missed that.

vince camuto prasata bootie nsale haulA friend tipped me off on these Vince Camuto Prasata booties and I think they are so cute. They haven’t arrived yet but I’m hoping they fit well!  The description says that they are true to size or slightly narrow.

betsey johnson forever perfect bra nsale haul

The Betsey Johnson Forever Perfect bra fit really well. I have a small band size and I felt that this was true to size even though the description says to go up a cup size. The push up version did not fit me well.

2016 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Shopping Tips

Early Access for the 2016 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts TOMORROW!  OMG I can hardly contain myself.  According to the online chat customer service, the website will be updated at midnight PST with everything available in the sale.  I will definitely be staying up to see what they unveil!  I also have a shopping appointment tomorrow during the day with one of my friends.  We go every year together and its now an unofficial tradition of ours :)

After shopping the sale for a number of years now, there are a few tips I’ve picked up along the way that I’d like to share.

1. Know what goes fast and go for that first

Nordstrom Hinge Victoriana Jacket

This Nordstrom Hinge Victoriana Jacket sold out instantly on the first day.

There are always 1-2 hot items from the sale that will sell out immediately.  One year, it was Tory Burch boots.  Another year it was the beautiful jacket above that was featured on the cover of the catalog.  This year, I’m not quite sure what it will be.  Perhaps the Veronica Beard Jacket (page 4, item #5159429) or maybe the Vince color block coat (page 12, item #5149611). If you aren’t able to shop early access, or if the item you want sells out, don’t worry, there is separate stock allocated to the public sale as well.

2. Be a Nordstrom Card Holder!

Nordstrom card holders get to shop Early Access which starts 8 days before the public sale.  This is great for the impatient shopper like me who wanted to see the catalog in June!  Haha!  Nordstrom card holders also have special perks like free alterations and when you shop enough to be in the higher levels, there are things like invitations to the holiday party and private parties.  I’ve been to the holiday party and it is SO MUCH FUN.  Not to mention, the past few years it has been 10 points per $1 spent on your Nordstrom card!  You can choose to use your personal triple points day when you make your big order too, for extra points.

3. Make an appointment with a sales associate

If you typically shop with a stylist all year round, then this will be easy. I’m sure your sales associate will have already called you to make an appointment!  If you’re like me and don’t normally shop with a sales associate then you’ll have to just find someone to book with.  I called my favorite department a few weeks ago and booked an appointment with someone.  Working with a sales associate is great because they can help you track down your favorite items and they can also help pull all of the items you’re interested in and put them aside in a room for you so that you don’t have to deal with the chaos of the first shopping day if you don’t want to.

4. Make a list of what you want from each department

In preparation for your shopping appointment, make a list of all the must-see items from each department you want to visit so you don’t forget anything.  If you’re shopping the first day of early access or the first day of the public sale, it gets pretty crazy in the store.  If I don’t make a list, I tend to forget about things and I will blow my budget and forget to buy some of the essentials I came for!  I try to mark down department by department what items I want to check out in the catalog.

Will you be shopping the sale on Thursday (or next Friday)?  I will be online at midnight eagerly awaiting the site re-opening with the Anniversary items, then at the store on Thursday bright and early!  Can’t wait to see what you all get! :)
